Their qualification ranges from Early Years Teacher Degree in Childcare and Education (Level 6), Qualified Teachers Status (QTS), Foundation Degree L 4 or Level 5. Montessori Teacher’s qualification and NVQ/BTEC Level 2/3 in Childcare and Education
Our teachers and nursery nurses provides continuity of care throughout the year. We operate a Key Worker system. Staff are supported in accessing long and short term training. They have regular supervision/appraisals to identify their training needs while support/advice is also offered in other areas.
The nursery staff members hold Paediatrics First Aid, Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Certificates.
Our teachers and nursery nurses know and honour each child’s individual potential and work to create an environment that inspires children to develop inner discipline, self-assurance, and a love of learning.
The teacher, child, and environment create a learning triangle. The classroom is prepared by the teacher to encourage independence, freedom within limits, and a sense of order. The child, through individual choice, makes use of what the environment offers to develop himself, interacting with the teacher when support and/or guidance is needed. Children generally have the same teacher for time at Cute Kids Montessori, allowing close teacher-children relationships to develop.
Multi-age groupings are a hallmark of the Montessori Method: younger children learn from older children; older children reinforce their learning by teaching concepts they have already mastered. The mixed-age aspect also intrinsically helps build their self-esteem. This arrangement also mirrors the real world, where individuals work and socialize with people of all ages and dispositions.
Students and Apprentices undergoing Childcare and Education, Health and Social Care Training may be available for placement and apprenticeship training. Experienced Bank Staff and Volunteers may be seen working with the children from time to time.
All our Staff including the Bank/Volunteers are DBS checked and the Colleges do obtain DBS checks for all their students before undertaking placements. DBS are renewed every 3 years and checked intermittently via the update service. The Paediatrics First Aid, Food and Hygiene, Health/Safety and Safeguarding trainings are renewed every 2 – 3 years.
